How does the practice of Classical Qigong affect the dissolution of Karma?
All human beings have an existence that is more profound than that which is apparent in the temporal dimension. The fluctuating nature of human conditions, manifested through body, mind and events we experience, is governed by the karmic law of cause and effect. All our past actions leave mental imprints in our mindstream - a mental continuum that begins from the 'beginlessness' of time. Individual karma, the legacy of effects caused by one's actions in past lives, can also affect the formative causation of familial and terrestrial karma. These all-pervasive interrelated karmic influences create the interpersonal vibrational field which configures each individual rebirth and destiny. Thus each person is the creator of their own life, past, present and future - the architect behind the cause of their life situation.
While karma dictates every aspect of human existence, it is possible to transcend one's karma by nullifying the effect of the past as it manifests in the present time. Since each person is responsible for the karma one has created, the actual action has to be the result of individual choice and free will. It is by oneself that evil is born. It is by oneself that evil is terminated. Bearers of sacred teaching can only guide their followers toward better understanding of their karma, but the dissolution of the karma has to come from each individual through the personal recognition of the truth and the corresponding actions that follow.
Nothing happens by accident. All karma, beneficial or negative, carries its own specific lesson for each individual. Only when one's mind is tranquil and detached from the secular view of temporal existence will one be ready to perceive the lesson and benefit from it. Lessons that go unlearned will only replicate even more of the same negative karma. Beneficial karma is not an infinite entity either. If one merely enjoys the bounty of the past and ceases to further one's Dharma practise in the present time, one will just as easily dissipate the benediction one has received, thus reversing one's fortune in the process. The ultimate objective of Classical Qigong Study is to transcend the influence of karma through transforming the absolute totality of the self. Only when one attains the ultimate state of non-attachment of the self, can the divinity of the self be realised; thus freeing oneself from the binding chain of discontentment, fear, uncertainty, repeated frustration of meeting the unwanted and such like, to proffer the final dissolution to the karmic cycle of samsara.
