Why Take Up Classical Qigong Study?

“I met Sifu at a critical stage of my life, precisely when I started to question very deeply the meaning of my existence, especially as I was experiencing more and more daily dissatisfaction about my worldly condition, which was the result of an accumulated frustration and aversion which I have been carrying with me during the different stages of my life. I knew I had to change some aspects in my personality and my behaviour, because there was no way I wanted to live the rest of my life in the same kind of self-destructing environment I created for myself. Instead of enjoying the company of people, I just felt more and more isolated, and interacting with people turned to discomfort and dissatisfaction. Even good intentions I had for others did not manifest the way I wanted because I was too obsessed with my own idea which often turned into a manifestation of arrogance. The only way I found to communicate with others was to engage in superficial discussion and small talk which does not advance real growth in human relations. I found myself becoming very tired and retired each night in a state of depression. Because of this anxiety, repressed anger, unsatisfied desire, craving for control and misunderstanding about the basic working relationship with myself, with surrounding people and things in my life, I was unable to sustain any true and lasting happiness. Even when I was experiencing happiness, it was only for a brief instant, and I could not appreciate and recognise it for what it was, for it was subdued in a whole range of self-absorbed ideas. The fact that I undertook long academic studies did not bring me more happiness, and certainly did not answer the more fundamental problems I had in my life. That is why I took up the study of the Classical Qigong Study in order to deepen my understanding of Classical Qigong, and its relevance to improve my general state of mind in accordance to my environment and everyday life.”
